I’m going on my very first date next week, and possibly my first kiss too! I have known this guy for 4 years. We text and talk all the time. He told me that he wants to say I love you at the end of the first date, do you think that is to early? What should I say back if he does say I love you?

  2. I would consider that love bombing if someone showered me with “I love you” on a first date. It has happened to me twice. They haven’t actually spent any time dating me, how can they know if they love me yet? They just love their idea of who I am. Sometimes they just love that they aren’t alone anymore, and it wouldn’t have mattered if it was me on the date or some other girl.

    If you guys have been spending a lot of time together in person and building up to this over 4 years just speak your heart. Do you believe you love them? Would you have said it without knowing they were going to say it?

    If you’re right for each other you have years and years to look forward to together, there’s absolutely no need to rush through all of your firsts in under a week. The buildup, the anticipation, that’s a big part of the excitement of dating! Each new milestone together is exciting, don’t rush through it all. Enjoy each leg of the journey.
