This guy (22) and I (20) have been talking and going on dates for about three weeks now. We have gone out a total of about 6 or so times. Our chemistry is great and we get along really well. We have all the same interests and have said multiple times we are almost like the same person. Recently, he asked the “what are we” question to which I replied, “getting to know each other but hopefully it goes somewhere”.
Two days ago, we were hanging out and he asked if we could become more serious. I told him I like to take things slow and he said that’s completely fine and that he’s a patient man. I thought that was very respectful and kind.
Last night however, he told me he loved me…three times. This really freaked me out and scared me away a little. Because he is mistaking infatuation for love, it makes me question his emotional maturity, experience, and whether or not he is genuine. He seems great, but using the L word this soon really put me off. We do not know each other on a deep enough level to love each other yet. This really turned me off and made me uncomfortable but he seems quite great otherwise (besides often talking about boobs, another girls ass, and making a fat joke…not sure how to feel about those either but he is a bit awkward and said he thought it was funny so maybe it’s a little social struggle). He shows a lot of care and effort which I like. Is this concerning?

TLDR; Guy I’ve been talking to for three weeks told me he loved me and I’m freaked out by it
