TL;DR wife (38f) seems to be secretly texting another guy and destroying the evidence.
Recently, I’ve been disturbed and woken by the sound of my wife’s phone receiving Facebook Messenger notifications late at night, which has sparked my curiosity. While normally I wouldn’t think much of it, the timing has left me feeling suspicious. Upon checking her messages, I discovered that they were all (four separate instances thus far)from the same guy, there was no message history, yet from his messages it was evident that they were responses and there had been ongoing conversation. Each time, I marked the messages as unread, only to find them completely deleted the next day, the only ones removed.
If you were facing this situation, how would you approach it? Should I confront her directly, or attempt to gather more evidence? I’m hesitant to be upfront about my suspicions, fearing it may lead to her changing her behavior and harboring resentment.
I appreciate any advice you can offer.
