Just a random person from Europe who’s trying to figure something out for a univesity project. I know that dropping your T’s in the middle and the end of words is not considered very pretty in the UK. So, is this a thing in the US as well? Would you perceive someone who says *buh* instead of *but*, or *righ* instead of *right* as less educated or something? Would you notice it at all? What if the person would do that quite frequently? Since linguists say that such ‘t-dropping’ before a word that starts with a vowel wasn’t so common before, and that mostly young people do it nowdays, are there any negative perceptions of this phenomenon in the US?
