How bad is it to be called a golden retriever

I have not a lot of dating experience and have only been in 2 relationships, each time they have referred to me as a golden retriever. I am blown blue eyed dude. And I’m usually a happy dude so I get the personality stuff. But what I don’t get is why it’s bad to be a golden retriever
