For context we’re from same circle, we’ve been out together with mutual friends a few times and kind of ended up talking to each other all night but never went any further. Im from Belfast, raised catholic, I’m not hardline but I don’t go sleeping about if you know what I mean, he respects that. Last week he called me to meet in our local, I agreed, we met up and all our mutual friends turned up so i wouldn’t call it a date but it was so much fun regardless. This week however he asks me on an actual date, no friends meeting us later, just us. Of course I was so excited, I agreed to a time and place.

The day comes, I went to the venue, so excited and giddy..and he doesn’t show up! I try to call him, his phone seems to be off. I thought maybe he’s just late, battery died. 45 mins later I just stood up and walked out of the venue, totally annoyed but I thought fuck it, not even gonna bother messaging him, cut my losses. Thankfully a few of my friends were out in another pub so I went and met them, took my mind off it..

And in he walks, obviously shocked to see me there having a laugh with my friends. The excuses started pouring out , won’t even go into it cos it’s so embarrassing but he said to me “ur just too good for me and you’re too nice for your own good” I nodded and just turned to my friends, enjoyed the rest of my night and paid him little attention.

The next day he messaged relentlessly saying how sorry he was, when I (STUPIDLY) agreed to meet up for a few drinks he said to me “ great, you’re too nice , too nice for your own good”

Thing is, he is a decent guy. But his actions and that sentence alone has my instincts on alert . Am I being a psycho or should I go for it?

Edit. Sorry for the title “I went on a date with a guy with where..” it’s St paddy’s weekend, I’m
Irish and about 49 Guinness deep. Forgive me
