Ok, so for context, I (24M) have been dating my girlfriend (26F) for about 4 years now and I recently found out she is actually transgender. Now, I don’t have a problem with trans people and I’m a supporter of the LGBTQ+ community but I feel lied to too. Like I said, I’m not transphobic, but I want to be with a woman who was born a woman last year.

She asked me what I would do if I found out my girlfriend was trans, and at the moment I didn’t know why she was asking, but I honestly answered that I would break up with her since I would feel lied to and I would only want to date a woman who was born female. She said, “Okay.” Fast forward to last night. She told me the truth. We sat down alone and she told me she was transgender. I told her I needed some space to think and I don’t know how to move forward. I told my friends and they told me if I broke up with her after finding out she’s trans, I would be “transphobic.” What should I do?

Edit: She got bottom surgery before we met

TLDR: I (24M) found out my girlfriend (26F) is transgender. What should I do?
