  1. Yesterday I parked my [old ass Japanese car next to an equally old ass American car](https://imgur.com/a/Z9j5xBx), it’s always such a funny look.

It’s crazy that Nikola Jokic is pretty much considered the consensus best basketball player in the world right now. 10 years ago he was drafted in the 2nd round of the NBA draft, with the 41st pick out of 60. They famously didn’t even show him getting picked on TV, they were playing a Taco Bell commercial. Picks that low aren’t usually expected to become much at all.

Now a decade later he is a decorated NBA champion, best player in the game, and I think the greatest European player ever. What he has become was so unlikely. It’s truly amazing.

  2. Well, I won’t be getting my billion this year, but as my local sports fans consistently say, “there’s always next year.” 🤞 I did, however, have my second successful Balatro run last night.

Do any of you have a core childhood memory that serves as a benchmark for pure happiness? For me I have a specific memory of going sledding at night with my dad and brother when I was 7, and whenever I think about it it’s like a Ratatouille-style flashback to childhood innocence.

  3. Yawn. Yesterday I had an idea for drawing, but I could only start way too late… and stayed up quite late. I am still glad I finished it, though.

I noticed that some things that I have come with a lot of functions… that I never really use. Like, I have yet to connect my oven and dishwasher to the Wifi, I never recorded anything on my electric piano or even used any other sound than the standard grand piano, and I have rarely even tried to change the standard settings on my phone for taking pictures. Since I haven’t used them, I also don’t know what I am missing out, obviously. I mean, I am glad that I got a good phone that has lasted me over six years so far, and a good oven and a nice piano, but somehow a lot of things seem to have more functions than I need.

When you guys get something new, do you try out all the functions there are, or just stick to what you need at that moment?

  4. I’ve booked my tickets for my first European vacation in early June; a week in London with plans to see some of the surrounding sights like Stonehenge. I saw that MLB is doing another London series with the Mets vs Phillies and it figures that I’ll be there right after the games

  5. I was being advised by my sister to find any scholarship programs to study in Finland or Switzerland. I have always wanted to study and move to Europe but I’m not confident in doing so since it’s not easy to move to Switzerland and I don’t think I’m that good enough to study in Finland. I feel like my sister is overestimating my capabilities, or I’m just underestimating myself.

    Any advice?
