My boyfriend (20M) and I
(21F) have been dating for approximately 2 and a half years. I met his parents on our first date and started dating a week after knowing each other. I’ve grown close with his parents and siblings. He’s kinda close with his extended family (namely his cousins). He told me they want to meet me, but he just said he’ll introduce us when we reach three years.

Do you think he’s just avoiding it? I’m not excited for it as meeting your S/O’s family sounds super pressuring, but I’d think anyone would have done it at the two-year mark. I’m a bit confused on how to feel about it. What do you think?

TL;DR: my boyfriend and I have been dating for almost 3 years and he hasn’t introduced me to his extended family.

  1. It’s super odd he’s giving the time frame of 3 years to meet the rest of his family. If consider that a red flag. 2.5 years is plenty to should be meeting family.

  2. From the post title I was going to rant. But given you know his immediate family well nothing is likely to be terribly amiss. Perhaps some of his extended family is embarrassing or trashy.

  3. You are close with his parents and his siblings.. Why on earth are you spinning in the circles about not meeting his cousins?

    That just makes no sense.
