there’s a saying an old friend of mine told me that I think about a lot. Her mom used to say to her “if you leave a fish out for too long it starts to smell”.
its supposed to mean if you’re too close to someone the friendship will burn out sooner, and i’ve never heard a more true statement.
you always hear of roommates fighting bc they live together 24/7, so naturally your gonna have more altercations with them than ur friends u see in class. Or friends that have known each other longer tend to fight more than friends that have only known each other for a less than a year, bc they are more comfortable to argue with each other and they also have more expectations from the friendship.
