Long story short, friend’s wife A did not like something about my wife, but chose in my opinion the cheapest way to put her on the spot by having 2 other girls (all friends’ wives) gang up on her in the argument. To be fair my wife isn’t without flaws but I personally think A could have talked to my wife privately to address issues, especially since A also showed immaturity occasionally that my wife just brushed aside. My wife held her anger in at that moment because she was concerned about me and my friend’s relationship. But it is also why she is frustrated and I hate seeing my wife being bullied like this when we’re all in our 30s.
The problem is, I have been very close friends with A’s husband for more than 10 years. How should I handle this situation? I am not sure what I’m supposed to tell my friend if talking to him is the right thing to do.
