My brother was working as a freelancer and converted to a business from which he is making no money. For the past 2 years, he got no projects and no revenue whatsoever. He is living in India at the moment. I’m working in UK.
He refused to work under a company, that’s the reason he became a freelancer. Now he wants to work for a company and asked me to refer him.
There is no open roles in my company and I don’t have great work-related connections to ask for referrals from others.
He wants a well-paid job and that too in the UK which matches his skillset. I tried to explain him about visa sponsorship which he doesn’t bother to listen.
I asked him for his resume a few months back to send to some of my friends. They didn’t respond much. Now my brother is accusing me saying, “Why haven’t you found a job for me yet?. I have sent you the resume. So you want me to not work and depend on you financially.”.
He says, if he had been in my position he would have helped me out and secured a job my now.
I don’t even know how to respond when someone is blaming and guilt-tripping me and making me believe it’s my fault. Whenever I talk to him, I feel as if I’m on the wrong side.
