I was new in a rural high school and the kids decided they hated me. I would sit at lunch tables where I wasn’t welcome bc I really, really didn’t want to be alone. A classmate put his phone number on FB and told people to text him, so I did. He did not like that. I never did again. At dances I was alone so I would just go up and dance with people. Never anything inappropriate. Just wanted to be friendly bc I was a loner. I was never offended by someone w no friends being nice.
Should I have just read the room and been totally alone?
