So let’s say you are the new guy on the team at work. It’s the second or third week, and you walk into the office and sit down and do type stuff. Then then suddenly a group of 2 or 3 of your coworkers start talking to each other around one of their desks (and it’s a really long talk that’s not about work). My questions are;

1. Should you stay out of it or attempt to join in? What factors determine that?

2. If you do join, how would you go about doing that? Is there some tactic you’d have in general or line you’d say?

3. If you opt not to join in, does that make you look weird?
