So, I saw this really cute boy at my bus stop today with his friends and so I tried to get his attention. He caught on and changed positions so he was facing me. We make lots of eye contact. 10 seconds later, his friend approaches me and asks me about which bus to take to a nearby uni. I drag that conversation on until the cutie joins us. He joins in the conversation, but doesn’t stay longer than say 4 seconds and rushes off with his other friends before I can try for conversation with him. I was ready to make a move too. How could I have approached this better?

  1. You didn’t do anything wrong, he just seemed to be more about his friends than the possibility of meeting someone. Why, I have no idea. I have friends, but have never been (or wanted to be since school days) in a friend group.

  2. Only thing more you could have done was talk to him yourself. From what I understand, women tend to not want to do that for whatever reason. Sometimes fates simply don’t align. Maybe you’ll see him again, maybe you’ll find another who will pick up your hints, or maybe you’ll decide to make a more direct move next time.
