I (31F) went on a date with this guy (39M) and everything was great. He came back the next day and said that he really doesn’t have the time for a relationship (firefighter with a demanding schedule & a single dad so he has his kids on his off days – truly was a valid reason that we had already discussed on our date as a potential hurdle). We ended up not seeing each other or talking after that but then fell back into contact a few months later. He said nothing had really changed in his schedule but really enjoyed my company. I ended up suggesting FWB and he agreed. Now we are a few weeks into it, we see each other regularly to hook up, end up laying there afterwards for 1-3 hrs talking about everythinggggg. We talk all day long every day. It doesn’t feel like FWB. It feels like a relationship. And i feel like there is a real connection there. Is this normal? Am I reading into it too much by thinking he cares more than he really does? I just can’t imagine a FWB talking for a few hours after the deed is done unless there is more there for him.
