Hi all – did a search for similar questions but couldn’t find any that applied to these circumstances.

My local Asda car park requires you to pay to park, and you then claim the fare back off your shopping when you go through the checkouts.

I’m usually in and out in a few minutes and use the scan&go for even speedier shopping, so don’t bother queuing at the parking meters to pay to park and then having to flag a member of staff down to claim the parking fare back.

On this occasion I was obviously a bit longer in the shop and have been issued a parking fine. Is it worth trying to contest it, as I did actually shop there at the time? I don’t have the receipt still but do have proof of transaction on the day and time via online banking.

Fair enough if not because it’s my fault for skipping buying a ticket in the first place, just wondering if anyone’s ever had similar happen to them.
