So I’m Australian so we don’t do tipping like you guys do so I don’t know if I have made a faux pas here!
Basically I got a tattoo, the guy was rad and we got along, I was really pleased with his work. He owns the shop, he’s not an employee and at the end I asked him what he wanted. He thought about it for a moment, said a price and then I paid him what he asked for in cash, thanked him and left
Should I have tipped here? He’s the one setting the prices and he gets the whole amount (after his costs of course) so I don’t know what the protocol is here?
