I (F27) met this guy on Bumble (M25) a month ago. We hit it off right away, so he naturally initiated to meet up in person if I’m ever in his town (we live 4 hours away from each other) to which I agreed to. We continued talking and six days later, I returned the gesture and asked him out as I’ll be spending a weekend in his town. He said he’ll give it a think on where to go and we mutually agreed to meet on Saturday night. On the days leading up to the meet-up, he had yet to confirm regarding the place as promised though we were still actively texting each other. I assumed that he might still be deciding, so I didn’t ask. Fast forward to Saturday, I barely heard from him all day and eventually got his text saying he won’t be able to make it that night as his family had some guests over at home and he’d been helping with that. He genuinely apologized (but didn’t mention any rescheduling) and I responded nicely and also thanked him for telling me.

We continued texting on the app, though eventually I was the one initiating to move off the app and gave him my number. He seemed grateful for it anyway and thanked me for asking. We’re still talking every day now and the conversation always flows naturally. He sends good morning/night texts, always checking on me, asks meaningful questions, replies in a timely manner (sometimes fast too), sends pictures, seems genuinely interested in what I’m doing, and vice versa. We seem to share common interests and values too, which is something I appreciate in finding a partner.

My issue now is, how long is too long until he initiate to meet again? Or at least doing something together online considering the distance? I feel like he’s on a slower side (he did say he prefers taking it slow) and I don’t want to risk being too invested when we haven’t even met irl yet. I don’t want to do all the heavy lifting either and am worried things might fizzle out soon and that we’re stuck in limbo. Now I wonder if he’s genuinely interested to take things further. Any thoughts?
