Right the fuck away, get video/photos of the person and call 911.
Depends on what it is. I can’t call the police for every guy that like catcalls me because who’d have the time for that, but if it’s something where I’m genuinely afraid it might escalate then absolutely.
So I have not called the police for myself. I have witnessed a few situations though where girls I did not know seemed to be dealing with a shitty dude, what I do is usually get in their face (the guy’s) to throw them off their game and hopefully generate enough attention that they just walk away. I don’t think that the police are that great or that they really help (once I called and they said that they would check on it later during rounds), or that women should bear the burden of dealing with all the procedure, so it’s not often for me unless the guy is aggressive or someone has been hurt/drugged.
probably only ever if the person was physically blocking my path, or about to tiptoe into assault territory.
the cops are more likely to shoot me or my family/friends than they are to do anything to help
When I feel trapped. It usually doesn’t get that far. I’m loud and blunt when I’m nervous. Sometimes I’ll even pick my nose just so the person will go away.
