A couple of weeks ago my boyfriend admitted that he had traded nude pictures in the bath with his female friend. This girl is his friend but has also been close to me and I trusted her with my personal life. My boyfriend admitted it unprompted which I still give it to his credit, although I’m awfully hurt. So when I confronted my boyfriend and told him that was borderline cheating, if not actual cheating. After a few days of separation, he asked to talk to me. He said that my “accusation” was projection. He is referring to my friendship with my guy friend. He said that I was the cheater and therefore I am acting mad. I feel really sad and confused. When I cried he called it crocodile tears and “emotional abuse”. He went through my phone and saw that I had some conversations with my friend and thinks they’re cheating. I had conversations with my friend about many things including my sexuality and emotional state. I was just venting to my friend, that’s what I thought. He said that was actual emotional cheating and therefore I ruined the relationship.
