So he knows that I have previously, before our 2 years relationship, written a novel about a group of fictional (animated) characters with a love story with one of them (containing explicit content). It’s a whole novel, around 130 k words so far and it’s about stories these characters go through with smut, not just about smut. And he’s hurt and outraged that I expressed wanting to finish this story, even though it’s a creative expression for me, a hobby and it brings me infinite comfort to write stories about them and yes there’s smut which is also how I express my sexuality. I feel like it’s harmless, since it’s just fictional characters but he doesn’t feel the same way.
How could I explain this to him?
