Growing up “inviting yourself” was an issue. Or maybe people were just being jerks. How do you know if you are “invited”? If the organizer directly invites you then it’s certain. What if a mutual friend invites you to someone else’s home or event?
For example I often hangout with a group of friends. One messaged me “hey, are you coming to X’s home tonight?”. I guess the respectful thing is to message X directly “can I join tonight?”, or how would you phrase it?
