I’m successful editor. My husband in his last year of fellowship before becoming a doctor. We’ve been married five years and over this time, I’ve moved with him to two different cities and one different state (current situation) for the sake of his career. As a result, I am now a remote worker since my job is based back east. We don’t have children and live in a modest one bedroom apartment. He has always expected me to be the one to cook dinner every night and recently, I realized I couldn’t think of one thing he does, every night, that is just for me. If I was single, I certainly wouldn’t cook dinner every night. He reasons that his job is a lot harder and more time consuming – he usually works 60 hour weeks and is on call for one week each month while I work 40 hour weeks, currently from home. So, what do you think? Am I being too much by expecting everything to be even steven when it comes to household responsibilities, given his job?
