I love to call people sir, ma’am, Mr. Ms./Mrs. because to me it is a sign of formality and respect. As opposed to the past, a lot more people do not identify with cis-gender so they may not necessarily go with any of those binary salutations.

I think including pronouns in emails helps you not make any offensive mistakes, however without them you’ll have to err on the side of caution. I feel calling someone by their first name sometimes “Hey Bob” when I’m talking to some CEO seems a bit too informal though. What do you all think?
