I have an old fashioned uncle who tends to pick on me whenever he visits. He asks me “So! How are ya!?” and I go “I’m doing well, how are you?” and he goes “Well, work a real job and then tell me how you are!” I then tell him “I have a full time job, I’ve been working for a while, almost ten years.” He then replies with “Well, welcome to the workin’ world , quit complainin!” I didn’t complain anywhere.
There’s lots of other examples like this where he’ll just ask me a question, I answer and then he puts me down, without fail. He doesn’t talk to others this way, just me. How do I deal with this so he stops? I’ve told him to cut it out and he goes “Aww man up! Quit bein so sensitive! Work a real job and you’ll understand one day!”
