Over the course of the last few days I found out that my husband has been hiding around $14k in debt. I found out by complete accident and I’m devastated. 2 CC were very recently charged off so that adds some “salt in the wound” knowing we could have most likely prevented the charge off’s, had he just told me sooner.
A silver(not so silver) lining is that we have the cash on hand to pay the debts off completely BUT that money was supposed to go towards a new family car that we do need sooner rather than later(we drive our cars until they pretty much can’t be driven anymore).
I’m not sure if I’m looking for advice or just venting at this point but I’m really upset about this whole situation. We’ve been married for 17 years and I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to trust him with finances again.
