I’m a woman, but two movies that had life long impacts on me were The Exorcist and Raiders of the Lost Ark. The Exorcist genuinely f’ed me up when I watched it when I was 7. I’m still so traumatized I can’t watch it and freak out if I accidentally see that possessed girl’s face anywhere. I can watch almost every horror movie and be ok, but I turn into a terrified kid around this movie.
As for Raiders of the Lost Ark, I became obsessed with that movie, I loved it so much! I watched it probably over 30 times and I still get the chills when I watch it today. I had posters all over my wall from that movie and imagined I was Indiana Jones’ assistant. It felt like my heart expanded whenever I watched this movie.
