So I got off of work early today. I’ll be going to training for a new job at the end of the month, so I most likely won’t see many of my friends for a while. A friend of mine asked me to go have a drink with him before I leave, and I was up for it.

I texted my husband and let him know, fully expecting an overreaction and to be told I couldn’t do it. He texted back “okay baby, have fun, I love you!”

That’s when I realized that my husband is nothing like my ex’s. He’s not overbearing, manipulative, or hypocritical. He loves and trusts me and doesn’t care if I go out as long as I’m safe.

Out of many, many reasons, that is one reason why I married the man I love.

  1. Thank you for posting. My wife would never put me in a situation like that. And for that I am super appreciative

  2. I can’t believe the other comments lol. You’re allowed to have friends of the opposite sex when you’re married. You told your husband and he’s fine with it. It would only be an issue if you were lying about it or if you’d previously agreed that it was a boundary in your relationship. I’m glad you’re happy and you’ve got trust and honest communication in your relationship

  3. That is so so sweet and precious. Not all people are so blessed to have a guy like that.
