I should mention I’m a gay man, but I think a lot of the same principles apply here. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 7 months now. We’ve had sex multiple times, but lately he told me to back off with how much I ask. And I totally understand because I genuinely feel like I always want it. There’s nothing wrong with someone turning down sex, but I can see how it’s a problem if you always want it.

I digress. I guess I feel like I’ve had sex with him, but I’m not sure if we have made love together yet. I want to bring up the idea of making love instead of having sex after taking a bit of a break from asking for sex…. the thing is… I’m not sure what the difference is. You can definitely have sex without making love, but I’m not exactly sure what making love is.

What do you think the difference between making love and having sex is?
