Need some life goals/milestones for late 30s

Missing goals or midlife crisis (no kids)?

Late 30s, very lucky to have a great wife, great dog, great house and a great income. Don’t have a six pack but very much in shape and like to think I’m fairly healthy.

Like I said married, bought a house, etc so without kids and not having their milestones that come with them what should I be focused towards? With kids at least you have their milestones to look forward to (we don’t want kids).

What goals should I be setting at my age? Right now it feels like I’m on a great ride but not sure how to describe the feeling… wish I knew where the ride was headed or mile points along the way? In your teens you look towards graduation, 20s is graduation and new jobs and serious relationships. Then a house. Retirement is still 10-15 years off for us so would like to set some goals or create milestones between now and even say age 45.

At the point where I realize and have to accept my long time goals of being CEO are probably far fetched… while at the same time accepting that that’s a lifestyle I probably wouldn’t want anyways. So from a career standpoint I’m comfortable with my earnings, my work life balance, so don’t no longer have goals to really grow there.

Just feels like if I don’t set goals or milestones the next ten years will just fly by and don’t want to look back and go “I should’ve done that.” How do I grow as a person at this age?
