I’ve been doing some reading about ways women are impacted in the porn industry, how there are instances of non-consensual porn being uploaded on popular porn websites (and when a contracted ‘yes’ does not mean a yes all the way), and how children are more commonly being exposed to it. On the front of pornography, I believe there is a lot of work to be done in making it more ethical, where does one start? A lot of kink is derived from porn. Not the psychological origins, but where people are first exposed to the ideas.

Anyways, do you believe that some kinks should be shamed, or show a lack of character or discriminatory view of groups of people?
For instance, I don’t believe that people who enjoy CNC wish to rape people, those who personality themselves or their sexual partner as feminine submissives as misogynists, or those who are into ‘race play’ being racist, or littles/‘mommies & daddies’ being paedophiles, but I wonder if it is problematic in it of itself to have these fantasies?

The easy answer to these question would be to only try kink between two consenting partners, and make sure it’s understood all the way. This is a given. But, in your mind, is there something more sinister to kink, aside from the negative components of porn?

For the record, I’m not here to pass judgment, I want to have a critical discussion. Personally I have some rather bizarre sexual kinks, one of which I feel shame around, not because I have conscious beliefs that ‘agree’ with this fantasy, but because of the subconscious associations I’m making.

Does anyone have advice? Does anyone disagree with the points I’ve made in this post?
