We’ve been dating 2.5 months and are recently exclusive. He has told me he wants something long term with me but were are not officially in a relationship. I am 24F and he is 27M.
We had a date set up for yesterday. The night before the date, he texts me that he might not be free because it is his friend’s birthday, but if they don’t end up doing anything, we are still on. He ends up going to his friend’s birthday and tells me he might be able to see me today instead, but he has a lot of work to do before he goes on his trip. For context, he is going out of town for memorial day weekend.
I was ready to send a text saying Hey I know you’ve been busy, but lately I’ve been worried you’ve been losing interest, and just wanted to have an honest conversation about it. In efforts to not make this post super long, theres other things that have made me think this, like seeming less physically affectionate or more on his phone when I’m with him, flaking on me before, and ending dates early because he is tired. But then he sent me a random text/string of photos joking around/at his friends birthday and talking with me like normal. It felt odd to send that text and I didn’t want to ruin the birthday.
I never text back and have decided to just wait to see if he sees me tonight. If he flakes again I’ll send the text, if I see him I think I need to have a conversation with him about how I’ve been feeling. Am I overthinking that hes losing interest? Is he actually just busy and my plan is overreacting?
