What do you do when you need time to calm your mind?

  1. Drink. Get drunk. I don’t recommend it. It works on the surface, but the cons outweigh the pros by a good bit.

  2. I ground myself. In my head I count
    5 things I can see
    4 things I can hear
    3 things I can touch
    2 thinks I can smell
    And
    1 thing I can taste.

    I then sum up my situation rationally and by this point my brain has slowed down enough to think logically.

    It works most of the time.

  3. Stare at the tv at some series that i saw a couple of time like friends, 2 and a half men, bbt… so no brain needed for processing

  4. Disappear from people. Those who underhand this is my coping mechanism don’t create an issue about it. I get back to people when I’ve dealt with what I’m feeling.

  5. Deep breath, tell myself that’s enough of that and just stop thinking about it.

  6. Walk aimlessly around the city. If it’s sunny and I’m alone I’ll be jamming to some music.

  7. Light up a fine cigar, go for a drive and listen to some country music or 80s rock.
