Let me start by saying my boyfriend is the sweetest person on planet earth. I'm the first person he calls when he wakes up and we fall asleep on video call every single night even if we're mad at each other, I'm his world and he's mine. We've only been dating for 2 months and we're doing Long distance, he's in Dubai and I'm in India.
My problem is that my family considers education to be everything, I'm a lawyer, and he is working as a sound technician, that's not going to cut it for them, last night I asked him if he would consider studying further or getting a degree in another field, he said he didn't have time or the money to study more and he wouldn't change careers because music is everything to him, after hearing him say that I realised how shitty it was for me to even suggest it, he loves his music and he deserves to be with someone who is proud and not afraid of her family and what people might say, he told me that if I wanted to end things it would be upto me, my messages to him insinuates breaking up, but I haven't said it outright.
