So l work as an HR and recently I had a little run-in with my manager regarding the software to monitor our remote team and since most of us are working from home, it's pretty important, but here's the thing my manager along with his wife also works here, and they are the only ones that don't use it. We got an update saying we have to use it for payroll too, so I brought it up with him.
He's been here for ages, and I'm here just for 9 months, but when I mentioned that he basically shut me down saying I need to know my place.l suggested another software for him which I don't even monitor, it just to make sure things are easier for him, but he's also weird about me knowing his paycheck, even though, I handle payroll. Since then things have been tense between us. We used to get along but now he's on my case about my work and it's really missing with my head. He started telling me that I'm not doing my job. My work is shitty, this is actually became very hard and affecting my well-being, It's affecting my overall progress and performance. I used to love this job, but now I'm looking elsewhere. I have good relationship with the owner, but I won't drag him into this drama, especially since my manager is tight with him.
The owner even promised me a sweet gig with some travel involved, but I'm worried my manager might throw me under the bus. But freaking out. What should i do?
