This is a throwaway and my first ever post. I (F20) am genuinely just so tired of this happening to me and I need to know if other people are going through the same thing as me and if there is something I can do about it. I’ve been on dating apps on and off for years and nothing even remotely valuable has come out of it. I have in my profile “looking for long term” bc I want to find something serious. I tend to only like people who also want long term. I however, have multiple of these situations happen: Whenever I match with someone, we usually have a really easy going and entertaining conversation. It goes so well that we even start planning to meet up. We literally go as to make the WHEN and WHERE of the date. But it seems like as soon as I text to confirm the plans, the guy will not only UNMATCH with me but he will also block me even if he ASKED FOR MY NUMBER IN ORDER TO PLAN THE DATE!!??!!??? This has happened to me at LEAST 7 times in the years I’ve been on apps and I just don’t get it. It’s the reason I’ve been off and on, bc it genuinely upsets me and affects me because it makes me feel as though Im not worthy of taking out or having a relationship. This last time just happened right now, we planned to meet literally tomorrow for lunch and I said “that sounds good!” and I got a read receipt and just tried to send a message and it did not and then went to check hinge and the match was no longer there! So, I’m officially giving up on the apps. I need to know if there is something I’m doing wrong, is there something that I’m missing? I also just feel as though my generation is cooked when it comes to dating. I guess I just want to know (especially from any guys) what is it that makes them plan a date, get my hopes up and then just go silent???? I’d appreciate any advice and thank you in advance 🙁
NOTE: I genuinely don’t think it factors in but if it does, I am also plus size, but I know I am not ugly and that my size does not equate to my beauty. I just figure that it may be a hurdle when it comes to dating.
