Context is a friend’s bachelor party, husband bought drinks for a group of girls they were all apparently talking to at the bar.

ETA— I told him early on I was not ok with him buying drinks for other women, as it came up in a discussion about going out without each other. He didn’t want me to accept drinks from other men and I said in turn I didn’t want him buying drinks for other women. It has been years since this discussion though, before we were even married.

  1. It’s definitely weird.

Could have been a “I am the rich guy” flex and not a “I want to sleep with you” flex (to be fair to the husband).

Probably falls in to: “it’s gray enough so you get a pass this time but don’t ever do it again or there will be severe consequences”.

  2. So I talked with my SO about it and a few questions came up for this:
    1. Did the group of the bachelor’s party include single men?
    2. Was your husband potential a wingman for friends?
    3. Did one of the other guys brought drinks for the ladies before or after?
    4. How do you know he did this?

  3. It’s not cool because it is the signal “hey let’s hang out MORE”. Why would he be interested in that?

  4. It all depends on HIS intentions. Was he trying to do it to make them look “cool,” whatever.

If he was trying to do it to get in their pants? No.

Honestly… if you’re worried about your husband… he would be doing this WAY more often than a bachelor party with friends.

  5. Ehhh when me and my buddies did a bachelor for one of our guys we actually ran into a group of girls doing a bachelorette and ended up hanging out for a while. Most of both groups were all married and in committed relationships. We bought them a round or two and they bought us one. It was pretty innocent, light and fun.

Without full details its tough to judge this one. If they were trying to seduce girls, it’s bad. If it was light fun, oh well he threw 20 or 30 bucks away for some fun.

  6. The “talking to” worries me more than the buying drinks.

I’ve bought drinks for randoms of all genders.

To start, my husband isn't super into gifts. Never really has been and that's OK. But every year…
