Tl;dr : girlfriend with ex issues has been texting her ex and I don’t know how to proceed
I’ll try to make this as short as possible.
I M26, have been seeing my GF F24 for the last two years. We’ve had our ups and downs but nothing we couldn’t get past. We met abroad in a different country to where where both from.
While getting to know her I learned her Ex Bf (31M) of 2 years had cheated on her and she took it really badly and it ruined her confidence.
My GF and I played some games one night while on vacation and at one stage she found some questions to ask me from google. Eventually it came to the Q of “When was the last time you spoke to your Ex?”. My answer was : “when I broke up with her”. Hers was “I don’t think I spoke to him since last summer”.
Now, I know she saw him when she went home for the holidays back in December. She told me this. So I’ve felt a bit uncertain since.
I am going to say here and now, I’m a piece of shit for doing this, but I went through her phone:
The stuff I found in there between her and her ex (at least 120 messages for 2024) was absolutely horrible to see.
He’d ask her for pictures of her, and she’d send selfies of her looking her best (these are the pictures which I thought were meant just for me and were also sent to me). Getting his attention.
I took a video of her on my birthday and he asked her to send it to her because “her ass looked great” and he wanted to keep it. She sent it.
He kept trying to get her to come see her when she was home and her responses would be “I’ve always find it hard to say no to you”.
She says she didn’t meet him and nothing happened.
Anyway – I went through her phone and told her I know what’s been going on a few months ago.
She took it badly first, then said she wants to marry me and it was all for her wanting to get him to grovel and want her back.
Now my predicament – we both move back to our own places next week, and he lives in the same town as her.
What in earth do it do?
