I have been with my bf for about 3.5 years.
A little background about us, We are compatible in alot of areas and we both have the same goals set in mind for the future. We also have been talking about marriage recently.
For some reason earlier today when I asked him if I was fun for reassurance thinking that i bore him in the relationship, his reply was ‘no, you’re retarded’. And it broke my heart a lot.
This was just one of his ‘jokes’ to me.
Other examples would be,
• Never complimenting me ever and only gives me a dull compliment when i ask for it.
• He jokingly insults me about my body to his friends infront of me.
•Whenever I asks for assurance he justs makes an insult and brush it off as a joke.
When i tell him off nicely that his jokes hurt me and asks him to say more nice things to me, he will make me guilty that i cant take a joke anymore and i should just accept him for who he is and stop asking him to change because thats his way of showing he loves me.
And now i feel like shit, what do I do?
