I(M 42) broke up with my ex girlfriend(F 42) about a year ago after a 2 year relationship. It’s been pretty much no contact since. It was amicable.

I then texted her in Feb to ask to meet up to say bye in case she’s moving away with the end of her lease but got left on read.

I found out I’m probably going to be laid off in Jan. This is a VHCOL area on the West coast of the US so I’ll have to move across country afterwards to the East coast and I don’t know if I’ll be able to return. The relationship meant a lot to me so I’d like to reconnect with her to say goodbye and maybe even spend the remaining time together as friends. I care about her a lot so I want to be able to say good bye in person before I leave but I don’t want to hurt her if she’s not ready. I’m thinking I should just send the message and put the ball in her court.

TLDR: Moving away. Should I reach out and try to say bye to my ex before I leave?
