I rarely see you guys talking about scoring a high paying job in the public sector, people with degrees looks focused on getting a good job on a decent company, not the government. Does the public sector just plain suck in the US except for cops?

It really puzzles me. In Brazil it's a really coveted position, being a clerk in any federal government bureau will wield a far better income than most jobs in the private sector, people will study years upon years to pass exams and become tax collectors, social security audits and court assistants
