Now as far as I understand the winner in most states wins all of electoral votes no matter how much votes he got. Ie both victory by 33% vs 32.9999% and 100% to 0% give all electoral votes. So why not automatically give electoral votes, why do electors have to cast them? Why not just hand them automatically based on who wins?
