How do women want/feel good to be approached in public ?

Hi I’m (20M) really curious about how women are okay with being talked to/asked out in public… I’m just not cool with the idea of just jumping in front of her and ask of her phone number , she’ll probably forget about me right ? Is there anything else comes on your mind ladies ?
