Texting on dating app and in general

I (20M) has recently match with a girl on a dating app. Even though I seem to have caught her interest, I feel like I rush into getting the first date. This is not the first time as I tend to be really terrible when it comes to texting. Even when I cold approach I usually just text to set up the date and then go radio silent until the date. My friends say I need to work on making people whom I want to date feel comfortable around me through text first so any advice? I would really appreciate it.
