Girls who can’t hold a conversation?

28m I'm stuck in this cycle of not being able to find someone and after months finally finding someone who has the same interests or claims they're interested in me they just put in no effort. Nearly every single girl I talk to nowadays will tell me how awesome I am or how they would love to get to know me, then straight up does not try. I am usually pretty skilled socially and I can keep a conversation going and I always ask questions to get to know them but they always respond with one word or short sentence responses. These girls are usually on Instagram, or dating apps. I'm just mind boggled. Why put yourself out there if you're not going to talk or try to get to know someone? especially after telling them you want to get to know them?! Is it boring that I'm trying to get to know you? Or are you overwhelmed with all the people trying to talk to you? Or is everyone just braindead now? I been alone for years because I can't find someone that will send more than a few messages.
