Bf (32M) got really mad and yelled at me (30F) maybe the loudest he’s been because I threw some soil from the balcony onto the glass top of his Tesla. The amount of the soil was about 2 handfuls, it was just 1/3 of the amount you could fit on those smaller hand shovels used for gardening. Really not that much, I couldve thrown that on my face and would be okay.
I threw that when he was backing in. He then came upstairs from the garage and threw his bag make a loud sound and some other things. I went to talk to him in a low voice asking why is he so mad. He just exploded and said if I had a problem? Why would I do that to our own car? He said I know he cares about his car, why would I cross his bottom line. Honestly, I thought bottom line is usually a person, or an ethical standard like cheating or something.
I tried to explain, it was not a lot of soil and he told me to stop arguing because he saw it with his own eyes that it was a pile. I said its because it spread once it hit the glass door but it really was just a small pile maybe the size of a snowball. And he continued to drop the shower head and threw the body wash into the tub, hitting the glass door which really couldve caused damaged. He said how would I feel if he threw my plant around, I said it’s different because it’s fragile and would break it but the car is fine. Not like I threw a hard object, it was also dry soil so not heavy
I was already crying at this point but he just got louder and louder. He now took his stuff and moved to sleep in another room. I also slammed the door for the first time (he’s done it multiple times) when he basically told me to shut up and didn’t want to listen to me explain anymore.
I’m sad but also think it’s pathetic to be this upset about something so small. Maybe I don’t get car lovers and it really was a terrible thing to do?

TL;DR BF exploded over me throwing a small pile of planting soil on top of his Tesla. I’m wrong or he’s overreacting.
