I recently went through a time where I had to make challenging life decisions like where to live, visa issues and consequently whether to marry my girlfriend at this stage of life… I felt like these are decisions I should've made at my 30s instead of at 25 years old, such is life…

Throughout this time, my forever supporter father started giving me extreme anxiety with every question I asked him. Although he's a great parent at times, I started finding his advice really old-fashioned and stupid at times. He's also just scared of life in general, leads a life full of anxiety and being scared of things.

I used to think he's a knowledgable respectable man but I just find that he's now almost an "ant" getting crushed by life's challenges… is it time to stop listening to his ill-advice or does he still know something? He's the type of person that won't even buy index funds since they are "too risky". I find that I lost the one person whose opinion I trusted the most…

Anyone have any advice on what to do?
