Clg life

I want to have a nice friend grp to do all the fun things and even grp study in clg and hostel but the thing is I have my guards and I want ppl to communicate with me first but now its like I have come out to everyone as a shy person which is true but I also want to make connections.This sometimes makes me feel lonely and terrible and there’s noone I genuinely have .I am not able to build strong and deep connections.Plz help
