How to politely ask friend if I’ve done something wrong?

I’m visiting the city he lives in but he’s been saying things like “I’m most likely spending time with the grlfrnd” or “I’m going to another friends party” or “might be hard but I’ll lyk”. Generally he’s been disinterested in meeting me this time around, which is unusual because he meets me often whenever I come into town. But this time seems different and I want to see if I’ve done or said anything that’s made him behave this way?
